Abstract

Policy makers in both the USA and Europe are aware of the necessity to stimulate the employment as well as the performance of scientists and engineers. This issue includes a selection of papers on both topics, bringing together labour economists as well as economists who do research on innovation and R&D. © 2010 Taylor and Francis.
