Abstract

We study influence of mechanical deformations to electronic properties of carbon nanotubes, and single out those increasing conductivity. In some cases deformation becomes plastic, resulting in transition to pentaheptite nanotubes. This transition may be useful for projecting nanodevices. © 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
