In recent years the scientific focus towards wearable devices has been intensified, and complete integration of electronic components and systems on garments remains an apparent goal. To that end, the development of suitable textile antennas is crucial, as conventional materials and fabrication methods often have severe limitations. In this work, we present a novel approach for this task whereby we accomplish not only a significant improvement in the mechanical performance of textile antennas, but also simultaneously we achieve manipulation of the RF antenna behavior through frequency tuning. © 2024 IEEE.
